By bicycle from Trieste to Domio

Ready for a little escape from city to countryside? This cycling route starts in vibrant Trieste—a cultural crossroads perched between Italy and Slovenia—known for its historic cafés and seaside views. From there, you’ll wind your way south for about 11.7 km, ending in the peaceful suburb of Domio.

Don’t worry about traffic—almost half the route follows dedicated cycleways or quiet roads. It's a scenic ride with a nice mix of paved and gravel surfaces, so expect a bit of adventure as you dip in and out of green spaces and old industrial areas. There’s a bit of a climb (nearly 240 meters up!) but you’ll be rewarded with some breezy descents through rolling hills, maxing out at about 208 meters above sea level.

Domio is a sleepy spot on the edge of Trieste—the perfect place to catch your breath, grab a snack, or just enjoy the slow pace before heading back. A fantastic outing for anyone wanting to see a less touristy side of Trieste!
