Bikepacking from Kranjska Gora to Kobarid

Get ready for an epic ride from Kranjska Gora to Kobarid! Starting in the charming alpine town of Kranjska Gora—famous for its winter sports and stunning views of the Julian Alps—you’ll head deep into some of Slovenia’s wildest scenery. This route isn’t for the faint-hearted: you’ll cover about 175 km, climbing over 6,300 meters and, thankfully, descending even more!

Most of your ride will be on quiet roads and stretches of smooth asphalt, so you can really soak in the mountain beauty. But expect a bit of everything: some gravel, the odd unpaved section, and those “hmm, is this the right way?” moments where the road just seems to disappear (fun, right?).

The ride wraps up in Kobarid, a peaceful town best known for its WWI history and gorgeous Soča River. Celebrate finishing this epic ride with a riverside gelato or a well-deserved local beer. Pack plenty of snacks, and be sure your legs and brakes are ready—this is pure Slovenian adventure!
