Cycling day trip from Kotor to Budva

This epic cycling route takes you from the UNESCO-listed town of Kotor, nestled in the dramatic fjords of Montenegro, over the mountains and down to the lively coastal city of Budva. Clocking in at about 31 km, it packs in a real adventure, with nearly 1,600 meters of climbing—so be ready for some serious gradients as you wind your way up to over 1,050 meters above sea level!

Most of the ride follows quiet roads, winding through classic Montenegrin scenery—think rocky outcrops, pine forests, and sweeping bays. The surface is mostly paved, but keep an eye out for some mixed sections. Bring enough water and snacks, because services along the way are limited.
