By bicycle from Koper to Piran

Kick off your ride in the vibrant coastal town of Koper, famous for its mix of Italian and Slovenian flair, colorful old town, and bustling harbor. Your route hugs the gorgeous Adriatic coastline nearly the whole way, so expect stunning sea views as you pedal.

Most of the 17.5 km is on smooth asphalt—perfect for a relaxed spin or a steady pace. You'll roll along dedicated cycle paths around half the time, and the rest are quiet back roads with very little car traffic. There’s a bit of climbing (just over 400 meters ascent), but nothing too extreme, and the max elevation is just above 100 meters, so it's mostly rolling with a couple of gentle hills.

You’ll pass little seaside villages and picnic spots along the way, eventually arriving at picturesque Piran—famous for its Venetian architecture, medieval town walls, and buzzing Tartini Square. Reward yourself with a gelato or a swim when you arrive!
