By bicycle from Envigado to Medellín

Roll out from Envigado’s leafy center and head north toward the Río Medellín cicloruta. Once you drop onto the riverside path near the Ayurá bridge, it’s smooth sailing: a mostly flat, dedicated cycleway that threads past Itagüí and the El Poblado skyline. Expect about 18 km of easy cruising with gentle ups and downs (roughly 140 m of climbing, 180 m of descent), almost entirely on paved asphalt or concrete.

It’s a fun mix of city views and river breeze. If you want a coffee stop, detour up into Manila or Provenza in El Poblado. Closer to the city core you’ll pass the Museo de Arte Moderno (MAMM) and Industriales before rolling into Medellín, the “City of Eternal Spring,” famed for its mild climate, Botero sculptures, and sleek Metro.

Envigado keeps a small-town vibe despite being part of the metro area—check out Casa Museo Otraparte before you leave. In Medellín, aim for Plaza Botero or Parque de las Luces as classic finish points. Watch for a few busier crossings when leaving or rejoining the cycleway, and enjoy the flow—Sundays are extra friendly thanks to the ciclovía.
