By bicycle from Lima to Independencia

You’ll start your ride surrounded by colonial architecture and the energy of downtown Lima, weaving your way out of the historic city center. The route is pretty chill for most of the way—over half follows dedicated cycleways and quiet roads, so you can relax and focus on soaking up the city vibes, though there’s a short stretch of busier road to keep things interesting.

The ride is just over 9 km, with gentle ups and downs but nothing too strenuous—perfect for a weekend cruise. Most of the path is flat or gently rolling, and you’ll climb to about 158 meters at your highest point. About a third of your ride is along nicely paved roads, the remainder is a mix, but nothing too gnarly.
