By bicycle from Bogorodskoye to Sokol’niki

This cycling route starts in Bogorodskoye, a laid-back residential district in Moscow known for its local parks and peaceful streets—perfect for warming up your legs. From here, you’ll ride just over 6 km south towards Sokol’niki, the famous neighborhood that gets its name from the old royal hunting grounds (“sokol” means “falcon” in Russian)!

The ride takes you mostly along quiet roads and access roads, so it’s a relaxed pedal with only gentle inclines and drops (nothing too taxing). You’ll roll over mostly paved and asphalt surfaces, with a few short sections of gravel and ground to keep things interesting. About halfway through, you can expect lovely greenery and the occasional pedestrian zone—great spots for a breather.

Sokol’niki itself is best known for its vibrant park, a favorite escape for locals and cyclists alike, with plenty of coffee stands and people-watching. In short, this is a mellow urban route, perfect for exploring northeast Moscow’s more tranquil pockets before ending in one of its most iconic green spaces.
