By bicycle from Richmond to West End

This ride takes you from the suburban calm of Richmond all the way to the heart of Vancouver’s West End, covering just over 18km and giving you a nice mix of scenery. Starting in Richmond—a city known for its vibrant Asian food scene and riverside trails—you’ll wind your way north, crossing the Fraser River (watch out for those great city skyline views as you pedal over one of the bridges).

You’ll spend most of your route on quiet residential streets and cycleways, making for a stress-free spin, with just a handful of short access or regular roads. There are a few easy climbs (ascent totals about 165m), but nothing too intimidating for most riders.

Roll into the West End—Vancouver’s lively downtown neighborhood, right next to Stanley Park and English Bay Beach—where you can treat yourself to a coffee, some people-watching, and maybe a stroll by the ocean. The surfaces are almost all smooth asphalt or pavement, so it’s a good ride for any bike. Enjoy the city sights, and don’t forget your camera!
