Bikepacking from Ostrov to Constanța

Get ready for a long, adventurous ride from the village of Ostrov all the way to the beautiful Black Sea city of Constanța! You’ll be pedaling for just under 190 kilometers—perfect for a challenging day ride or a two-day trip if you want to take it easy.

You’ll roll out from Ostrov, a peaceful town on the banks of the Danube, renowned for its wine and vineyards. The route will take you east through the heart of Dobrogea, Romania’s sunniest region, famous for its rolling hills and wide open spaces. Be prepared: around half of your journey uses gravel tracks and quiet backroads, offering stunning rural views and a real taste of the countryside. Expect moments of both steep climbs and fast descents, with over 2,000 meters total ascent—so pack lots of snacks and water!

As you approach Constanța, you’ll start feeling the refreshing sea breeze. Constanța itself is Romania’s oldest continuously inhabited city, filled with history, lively beaches, and tasty seafood.
