Cycling day trip from Novaci to Petrila

Ready for a big adventure? This cycling route kicks off in Novaci, a laid-back town at the southern edge of the Parâng Mountains. Soon, you’ll be climbing into serious mountain territory, with some leg-burning ascents (over 4,000 meters up!) and stunning views—max elevation hits above 2,100 meters. The route is about 88 kilometers, so clear your day.

Surface-wise, expect a mix: about half the surfaces are 'adventure' (not exactly well-marked roads), and there’s a healthy blend of gravel, ground, and a fair share of proper tracks and trails. Asphalt sections offer some smoother riding, but come prepped for lots of unpaved paths.
