Cycling day trip from Brasov to Râşnov

This mellow ride takes you from the vibrant heart of Brașov to the historic fortress town of Râșnov, winding through some of Transylvania’s prettiest countryside. Starting in Brașov—a city famed for its medieval charm and that iconic Black Church—you’ll cruise mostly on paved and quiet roads, with a gentle ascent that won’t break much of a sweat (about 151 meters gain total).

About two-thirds of your route is smooth asphalt, but you’ll hit a mix: a dash of gravel and a little bit of unpaved track, so a hybrid or a sturdy road bike is a smart pick. You’ll pass through open fields and villages, soaking in those Carpathian foothill views.
