Cycling day trip from Brasov to Câmpina

Ready for an adventure? Set off from the historic city of Brașov, nestled in the heart of Transylvania and famous for its medieval charm and dramatic Carpathian scenery. This cycling route to Câmpina is no joke—over 104 km with some serious climbing (you’ll ascend over 3,000 meters!), and you’ll reach heights of nearly 1,900 meters as you cruise through the mountains.

Expect variety under your wheels: almost half your journey will be on tracks, splitting the rest between gravel, ground, quiet roads, and even a bit of asphalt. Only about a quarter of the ride is paved, so a gravel or MTB bike is your best bet.

As you descend into Câmpina, reward yourself with some local hospitality and soak in the relaxed small-town atmosphere. Câmpina is known as the former residence of Romanian engineer and inventor Dimitrie Leonida, and it’s surrounded by gentle hills—a soft landing after your epic ride.
