Cycling day trip from Lo Prado to Chicureo

This ride takes you from the bustling comuna of Lo Prado in Santiago, with its vibrant local markets and community parks, all the way up north to Chicureo, a suburban enclave known for its tranquil, modern residential vibes and green, open spaces.

You’ll cover just under 55 km, much of it rolling along paved surfaces—great for keeping the pace up! About half of your journey rolls on dedicated cycleways and quiet roads, so it’s a pretty comfortable ride after you leave behind the city buzz. Keep an eye out for some elevation gain; it’s nothing too steep (just over 200 meters), but enough to make things interesting as you head towards Chicureo’s higher ground.

Watch out for sections where the route info is a bit spotty (about a third of the way), so some old-fashioned common sense and Google Maps skills might come in handy. Once you hit Chicureo, reward yourself with a coffee at one of its cozy cafes or just enjoy the relaxing suburban feel—quite the contrast to where you started!
