By bicycle from Budapest VI. kerület to Újbuda

This cycling route takes you from Budapest’s lively VI. kerület (Terézváros), known for its theaters, cafés, and the iconic Andrássy Avenue, down to the more relaxed, green neighborhoods of Újbuda on the Buda side. The ride is about 13 km, mostly on smooth, paved surfaces—so it’s a pretty comfortable city spin with just enough hills to keep things interesting (around 130m up, a smidge more down).

You’ll start off in bustling city streets, but thanks to plenty of cycleways (about 63% of your route), you’ll dodge most of the traffic. Glide by landmarks, then cross the Danube—don’t miss the river views—and finish in Újbuda, famous for its chill student vibes, open parks, and the buzzing Bartók Béla Boulevard cafés.
