By bicycle from Budapest XIII. kerület to Óbuda-Békásmegyer

Set off from Budapest’s lively XIII. kerület (that’s District 13) and cruise north across some of the city’s best cycling miles. This short ride takes you just under 4 km, mostly along smooth, paved cycleways with a gentle ascent—no Everest moments here, just a pleasant roll.

You’ll pass through a blend of newer neighborhoods and leafy parks, crossing the Danube at its prettiest. Most of the route keeps you separated from traffic (hooray for bike paths!), but you’ll briefly experience Budapest’s mix of quiet roads and those classic paving stones.

Your ride wraps up in Óbuda-Békásmegyer (District 3), an area famous for its relaxed, village-like vibe and Roman history. If you’ve got time, park your bike near the Óbuda ruins or grab a coffee in one of the area’s cozy cafes. It’s the perfect quick escape from the city center, with river breezes and a taste of old and new Budapest woven together.
