By bicycle from Halle-Neustadt to Halle

Set off from the modernist charm of Halle-Neustadt, a district known for its striking ‘Plattenbau’ architecture and lively green spaces, heading northeast into the heart of Halle (Saale). This 12 km ride is a super relaxed city-to-city jaunt, mostly along smooth, dedicated cycleways (about two-thirds of the way), so you barely need to worry about traffic.

You'll gain only a gentle 46 meters in elevation, making it a friendly trip for most cyclists. The route is almost entirely paved—think comfortable asphalt and some stretches of paving stones, giving your ride a nice bit of character as you roll closer to the Altstadt.

Arriving in Halle, you’ll find yourself amid cobbled streets, vibrant student energy (thanks to the university), and landmarks like the beautiful Market Square and the imposing Marktkirche. It’s a route that’s easy on the legs, interesting to the eye, and perfect for a casual morning or afternoon ride between two very different but equally fascinating parts of town.
