Cycling day trip from Mikołajki to Ruciane-Nida

This ride takes you from the picturesque lakeside town of Mikołajki—often called the “Pearl of the Masuria”—down to Ruciane-Nida, another gem tucked right by the water. The route covers almost 28 km, so expect to be in the saddle for a solid couple of hours. There’s a bit of climbing (around 245 meters up and 232 meters down), but you’ll be rewarded with some lovely lake views and peaceful forests.

Much of the ride leaves the main roads behind: about two-thirds is on tracks, so be ready for mixed surfaces—gravel, sand, and some smooth stretches of asphalt. It’s a good idea to bring a hybrid or gravel bike, just in case. You’ll mostly escape traffic, cruising through quiet roads and scenic woods.
