E6-26-Padua-Euganeische Hügel

This e-bike stage leads from the hotel in Montegrotto Terme first to the twin town of Abano Terme. It is the most important and oldest thermal centre in Europe and sits in a charming location at the foot of the Colli Euganei, in the Veneto region. According to legend, the Greek hero Hercules and his valiant companions, who set out to defeat the giant Geryon, were restored by the wondrous properties of these warm waters after their feat. Drawn by the beauty of the hills, they decided not to return to Greece and to settle here. The hills were named 'Euganei' because of the excellence of their lineage. The spring that gave the heroes such refreshment was called 'Aponon' in Greek.

The route then passes through arable land and vegetable plots to the small river Bacchiglione, which we follow with the FLYER. We reach Padua. The city is, after Verona, the second major urban centre in Veneto. You'll not only visit the Basilica of Saint Anthony, but also stroll under the arcades that run through the town centre and are perfect for shopping. Return to the hotel by coach.
