Stage 4 | Visiting Snow White | Freudenberg to Lohr am Main

Stage 4 on the Mainradweg starts with dream weather and great views. Along the northern bank, castles, half-timbered houses and plenty of history accompany us: the Freudenburg in the Odenwald, the Henneburg near Stadtprozelten, and the culturally linked towns of Wertheim and Kreuzwertheim. Wertheim's old town delights with its Stiftskirche, the Alte Münz and intriguing anecdotes around the town hall.

The Mainradweg continues to show its best side: mostly paved, quiet, riverside and with numerous rest stops — rightly an ADFC five-star route. Passing vineyards such as the Kallmuth, the industrial port, Marktheidenfeld and the 'Blauen Wunder' it becomes slightly hillier, but always enjoyable.

Via Rothenfels we finally reach Lohr am Main — Snow White's home and the gateway to the Spessart. A fairytale finish to a varied day of cycling on the Main.
