Altmühltal Tag 5 (Kehlheim - Regensburg)

The last day takes me along the Danube, after the Altmühl and the Main-Danube Canal have now merged into the Danube. The river is very wide and the traffic on the water is heavy. You can tell the Danube cycle path is popular, because it's crowded. Besides the many cycling enthusiasts, it seems like a promenade for all sorts of people. The bustle is back on me. I can't really feel any joy; I feel like I'm on the motorway. Entering Regensburg is the next tangle of people to get through before I reach my destination. My conclusion... You really have to want the Danube.
