After a short but reasonably steep climb, Calton Rd exits Gawler with a right turn onto Balmoral Rd and heads towards Cockatoo Valley.
A left turn at 'The Barracks' street sign leads to Pimpala Rd via a dogleg combination of The Barracks, Pink Gum Drive and Williamstown Rd.
Pimpala Rd leads to Lyndoch where a short break will be possible. The route exits Lyndoch via the Barossa Valley Way and heads towards Tanunda.
A left turn onto Bilyara Rd from Tanunda's main street, followed by a combination of Langmeil Rd, Smythe St and Stonewall Rd, pass many picturesque vineyards along the way, eventually meeting Seppeltsfield Rd where a left turn is made.
After riding past the tranquil surrounds of the Seppeltsfield Winery, Seppeltsfield Rd eventually becomes the Kapunda Rd, after passing under the Sturt Hwy, leading to Greenock.
A right turn onto Sir Condor Laucke Way from Greenock's town centre heads to Nuriootpa's main street where another right turn onto Penrice Rd soon leaves Nuriootpa behind.
A right turn onto Light Pass Rd turns the route south for some distance until Light Pass Rd itself becomes Bethany Rd, which is then ridden until it meets the Barossa Valley Way, leading to the start of Gomersal Rd.
At the end of Gomersal Rd, and after a short section of the Sturt Hwy, a right turn onto Roseworthy Rd leads to the Gawler-Kapunda Rd where a left turn directs the route south.
Nearing Gawler, a left turn on the Main North Rd 'loops back' to the Gawler Bypass which is ridden until the Two Wells Rd exit, signifying the last section of the ride and the return into Gawler.
