About This Route

Auf leicht welligem Terrain führt der Weg weiter gen Norden und bei Hattingen erreicht man die Ruhr, die Schleife rund um den Baldeneysee südlich von Essen stellt einen ca 35 km Umweg dar. Die Ruhr entlang führt der Weg nach Herbede. Hier teilt sich der Radweg. Die südliche Route führt über eine kurze extrem steile Passage (Vorsicht bei der Abfahrt) über die Burgruine Hardenstein und entlang Harkortsee und Hengsteysee nach Syburg. Interssant ist das Laufwasser-Kraftwerk bei Hengstey. Von Hohensyburg genießt man einen schönen Ausblick auf das Tal der Ruhr.
