I've been riding road bikes since 1967 and got my first 10-speed, a Schwinn Varsity, in 1969. I worked in a variety of bike shops from 1970 to 1986 and have never lost my appreciation for the bicycle. The bike I've had the longest is my 1973 Raleigh track bike. My favorite bikes are racers from the 1970s.

Cycling route in Milton, Vermont, United States

This ride travels up the east coast of Lake Champlain from Milton to Swanson.  Some of the roads on the way back are unpaved, so you may want to drop back to the Georgia Shore road when you reach the Mill River Rd, if you must have asphalt (or if things get wet).
