Excursión ciclista de un día de Palafrugell a l'Escala

This ride takes you from the charming town of Palafrugell to the lively seaside village of l’Escala, winding for about 34 km through some of the Costa Brava’s prettiest countryside. Palafrugell, famous for its weekly market and links to Catalan writer Josep Pla, is the perfect place to roll out—grab a quick coffee and off you go!

The route is mostly on quiet roads and tracks, with a mix of paved and unpaved surfaces, so a gravel or hybrid bike is a good call. You’ll pedal past small farms, pine forests, and classic Mediterranean views, with gentle hills and easy descents (the max elevation’s just about 75 meters). You might get a little dusty on the unpaved sections, but that’s all part of the adventure.

Once you reach l’Escala—renowned for its anchovies and Greek/Roman ruins nearby—you can cool off at the beach or grab some seafood tapas by the water. Perfect for a relaxing ride with plenty of Costa Brava flavor!
