Looking to escape the hustle of Taipei and enjoy a breezy ride to Taoyuan? This 46-kilometer route is perfect for a full day adventure, taking you from the buzzing heart of Taipei down to the gateway of northern Taiwan. You’ll set off near Taipei Main Station, surrounded by skyscrapers, night markets, and the city’s famous old/new vibe mix.

The path is cyclist-friendly, with over half the journey on dedicated cycleways and the rest mostly on quiet roads, so you can enjoy the scenery (and a podcast or two) without too much traffic stress. There’s just enough elevation gain (about 283 meters) to keep things interesting, but nothing too intense—the max elevation is only 122 meters.

When you roll into Taoyuan, you’ll hit a city known for its Hakka heritage, modern hustle, and proximity to Taiwan’s main international airport. Expect smooth sections of asphalt, but be ready for some mixed surfaces as well—Taiwan loves to keep cyclists on their toes! Bring water, a camera, and snack stops are highly recommended.
