À vélo de Straelen à Gueldre

This gentle 11 km ride takes you from the charming small town of Straelen, famous for its colorful flower markets and lush greenhouses, up north to the historic village of Geldern (formerly known as Guelders). You’ll roll mostly along bike paths and quiet roads—nothing too busy, so it’s great for a relaxed outing.

The terrain is super flat, typical for this area near the Dutch border, and you’ll barely notice any climbs (the ascent is hardly 3 meters!). Most of the route is smooth asphalt, passing fields, farms, and maybe even a windmill or two. With only a few bits of paving stones or unknown surfaces, it’s very bike-friendly.

Arriving in Geldern, you can explore the attractive town center with its cozy cafés and striking St. Mary Magdalene Church. Take your time and enjoy the peaceful, rural atmosphere throughout the ride—it’s a true Lower Rhine countryside experience!
