This scenic cycling route takes you from Solingen, known as the “City of Blades” for its centuries-old knife-making tradition, to the charming town of Haan just to the west. You’ll cover just over 10 km, mostly on paved surfaces, rolling along quiet roads and paths—perfect for a relaxing ride.

Leaving Solingen, you’ll find yourself surrounded by lush greenery and gentle hills. There’s a bit of a climb, but nothing too taxing, and you’re rewarded with more descent than ascent as you approach Haan (it’s situated a touch lower than Solingen). About three-quarters of your ride is on paved and asphalt surfaces, with only occasional gravel patches—so it’s suitable for most bikes.

Haan, your destination, has a cozy old town atmosphere and is known for its tree-lined streets and parks. Grab a coffee and enjoy the relaxed small-town vibe at the end of your ride!
