Seriously painful with the addition of keeping up with the fast brigade- for a few miles- then dropped off and joined the mediums- which as usual- were not very medium- with my tank of a bike I started to fall off going up the parachutes..so made a B-line across to the coast and had them chase me down- I Was nearly at the Tranent rounabout when they caught me- I was so tired that I only hung in for a while- fell off the back and let them do the sprint thing- I had many miles still to go- through a soaking rain and then snow falling as I climbed over Sutra Hill again..400 metres up..then home for copious amounts of tea ! Slante !

Road Race prep for the Youth squad..tag along for me.

~ I just accompanied - I did not do the coached hard efforts of the paired guys of the race squad. They did lead out, and sprint finishes, taking turns to burn up hills and smash it in specific areas of the course. This also aids in learning every aspect of the course, and warming you into the efforts. Then winding you back down from them afterwards. My job was to hang off the back and chat with Dad of one, and assistant and ex-Pro other..so thouroughly enjoyable. On my last lap I barely managed to keep up with them..it certainly was not easy for me, even though I was not FULL GAS like the lads were- I know they were exhausted ! All good for the legs ! On Yer Bikes ! #LBS
