Tubac in bici

Turnoff I19 at Tumacacori exit and go to the west side of the interstate. There is a turn-around there and good parking at the bottom although you may want to go up the road to the top of the first rise to park...you WILL need a truck to do this though..or a hell a good running start.. This trail is very rugged...lots of rocks and gullies in the road. There are some easy spots but you'll welcome them. Several great spots to stop and several good swimming holes after you get past the second "Point of Interest". Beautiful country...several waterfalls and large meadows. Lots of nice Quartz crystals too if you like a little rock hounding. Take an extra tube, patch kit...whatever you like, and a pump or co2. I'd highly recommend good tires as well. You might need it. Its not a long ride but a demanding one and there is only one way in and out. The old topo maps..real old..like 1944.. show this road going to the top of the mountain and over. I can't know if it still does. I hope someone will be able to tell us all the answer to that! Go as far as you will.  Lots of water and eats and extra tube and pump. Enjoy.
