The aim of the day was to cross the Swedish border and reach Ylitornio in Finland. Definitely one of the best cycling days of the tour. We cycled on roads with less traffic in marvelous nature. Crossing the border to Finland, we have been attacked by mosquitoes on the first stop, that is not to say that in north Sweden it is different. Mosquitoes were our companions for the next few days</font></span>. Done 2013 06 29

Roll east from the hamlet of Rolfs toward Haparanda on EuroVelo 10, about 69 km. It’s a mostly flat day beside the Bothnian Bay, mixing smooth asphalt with long stretches of firm gravel. Expect some traffic on main roads, but plenty of open forest and coastal views to balance it out. Haparanda welcomes you at Sweden’s border with Finland, paired with Tornio just across the river—perfect for a quick cross-border coffee or supplies before the next leg.
