Gita in bici di un giorno da Taipei a Keelung

This route is a fantastic ride from bustling Taipei up to the port city of Keelung, perfect if you want to see the best of northern Taiwan by bike. You’ll cover a little over 36 km, starting in Taipei’s vibrant city center (famous for its lively night markets and Taipei 101 tower), and finish in Keelung, known for its fresh seafood and scenic harbor.

Most of the ride follows smooth cycleways or quiet roads, making it comfortable for a leisurely trip—just be ready for some mild hills, as there’s about 330 meters of climbing along the way. You’ll pass through lush green spaces and get glimpses of the mountains as you head northeast, and as you approach Keelung, the air gets a little saltier and you might spot ships off the coast.

It’s a great urban-to-coastline route with lots of variety and not too much traffic stress. Don’t forget to reward yourself with some local eats at Keelung’s Miaokou Night Market when you arrive!
