Bikepacking da Tainan a Hengchun

This long ride takes you from the historic city of Tainan, the oldest city in Taiwan and famous for its temples and food, all the way down to Hengchun at the southern tip of Taiwan, not far from Kenting National Park. The route covers just about 199 km, and you’ll experience over 1750 meters of climbing, so be prepared for some steady hills along the way—though you’ll also get just as much descent, with the highest point peaking around 425 meters.

For much of the journey, you’ll be rolling through quiet roads with a good variety of surfaces, mostly paved or asphalt, with stretches of cycleway and only a few busier sections. Expect rural landscapes, glimpses of the coast, and plenty of small towns where you can stop for snacks and breaks.

Arriving in Hengchun, you’ll find a charming old town with preserved city gates and a relaxed, tropical vibe—the perfect spot to unwind after your ride. This trip is a fantastic way to experience the beautiful southwest of Taiwan on two wheels!
