Gita in bici di un giorno da Puli a Lugu

This route takes you from Puli, a charming town known as the “Heart of Taiwan,” famous for its pure spring water and delicious Shaoxing wine, down to the tea-covered hills of Lugu. Over 100 km, you’ll wind through mostly quiet and access roads, far from heavy traffic—perfect for soaking in the lush scenery.

Prepare for a real workout: there’s over 4,300 meters of climbing, with the highest points brushing 978 meters above sea level. Most of the route’s surface info is missing, but a chunk is smooth asphalt and paved roads, so a road or gravel bike (and a bit of adventure) are both welcome.

You’ll roll past spectacular mountain views, deep valleys, and maybe even spot bamboo forests as you near Lugu, famous for its high-mountain tea. There aren’t many cycleways, but the peaceful roads and the promise of a well-earned cup of tea at the end more than make up for it. Take your time and enjoy the ride!
