This ride takes you from Poplar, right in the heart of East London’s Docklands, to the historic City of London—home to some of the most iconic sights in the capital. The route is about 7 km, so it’ll take under an hour at a relaxed pace, with only a gentle climb (just 39 meters of ascent), making it beginner-friendly.

You’ll cruise along mostly smooth dedicated cycleways (around 77% of the route!) with a mix of paved and asphalt surfaces, so it’s super comfortable. There’s a short patch of gravel and paving stones to keep things interesting, but nothing your tyres can’t handle.

Expect a fun transition from Poplar’s modern high-rises to the City’s mix of glass skyscrapers and centuries-old buildings. The City of London, often called the “Square Mile”, is the original Roman core of London—so you’re cycling right into history!
