Roll out from Hammersmith—home to the riverside pubs and the Eventim Apollo—and head east toward Kensington. The route nudges gently uphill (about 45 m total climb) and stays almost entirely on smooth, paved surfaces. Aim for Kensington High Street and then slip into Kensington Gardens or Hyde Park for a calm, traffic-light stretch past the Serpentine. Pop out by Marble Arch or Hyde Park Corner and weave through quieter back streets into the West End.

It’s roughly 10 km, mostly on quiet roads and cycleways with only a couple of busier crossings. At the finish you’re in the heart of Theatreland: the West End is London’s entertainment hub, packed with historic theatres, Soho’s eateries, and the shopping magnet of Oxford Street.

Tips: watch for pedestrians in the parks, bring lights for a few big junctions, and consider a coffee stop in Kensington or by the Serpentine. A relaxed, city-classic ride from river vibes to neon lights.
