If you’re up for a scenic ride that takes you out of the buzz of Vienna and into the leafy outskirts, this route to Purkersdorf is perfect. Starting right in Vienna’s city center, you’ll wind your way through mostly paved cycleways and quiet roads—ideal if you prefer avoiding heavy traffic. Over 20 km, you’ll gently climb just over 220 meters, enough to get your legs working but still totally manageable.

The route’s surface is super smooth—mostly asphalt and concrete, with just the odd stretch of paving stones or gravel to keep things interesting. As you leave Vienna behind, you’ll catch glimpses of the Vienna Woods (Wienerwald), the lush green heart on Vienna’s western edge.
