Giro veloce in bici da Podersdorf am See a Illmitz

This ride is a lovely, easy-going route connecting the lakeside village of Podersdorf am See to the charming wine town of Illmitz. You’ll cruise for about 14.5 km, mostly on super-smooth asphalt and very quiet roads—perfect for a relaxing spin with barely any hills (the ascent and descent are nearly flat!).

Starting in Podersdorf am See, you’ll see the iconic lighthouse by Lake Neusiedl, a popular kite and windsurfing spot. As you pedal south, you’ll roll past vast reed beds and endless fields, with plenty of birdlife—it’s part of the UNESCO-listed Neusiedler See-Seewinkel National Park.

The route is peaceful and safe, with hardly any busy roads, so you can really take in the scenery. After about an hour, you’ll reach Illmitz, noted for its wine and as a gateway for exploring more of the national park. Don’t miss a glass of local white wine and maybe some traditional Austrian fare before heading back!
