This scenic ride takes you from Oudenaarde, the heart of Flanders’ cycling culture, up to the vibrant city of Ghent. Oudenaarde is famous for its historic town square and as a springboard for the Tour of Flanders—so you’ll be rolling out from true cycling country!

The route is about 32 km with only gentle climbs and descents, making it a relaxing journey even if you’re not chasing a KOM. Most of the ride is on quiet, paved roads—perfect for soaking up the Flemish countryside. There’s a good mix of dedicated cycleways (about a fifth of the route) and you’ll barely touch any busy streets, so it’s a stress-free ride.

Approaching Ghent, you’ll feel the buzz pick up—there’s so much to see, from medieval castles to lively canals. All in all, it’s an easy-going trip from tranquil fields to city energy, with barely any rough patches (literally!). Stop for a coffee either end—or both—and enjoy the ride!
