This scenic cycling route takes you from Lübeck, the “Queen of the Hanseatic League” and UNESCO World Heritage Site, up to the Baltic Sea at Timmendorfer Strand. You’ll pedal through about 20 km of mostly paved paths, with just enough gravel to keep things interesting—so a hybrid or sturdy road bike will be ideal. The ride is mostly gentle, with minimal climbs, and follows a mix of dedicated cycleways, quiet roads, and some lovely tree-lined paths.

Leaving Lübeck’s charming old town behind, you’ll wind your way northwest through green landscapes and small villages. Soon, the air gets fresher and the salty scent of the Baltic greets you as you roll into Timmendorfer Strand, a lively seaside resort famous for its long sandy beach, chic cafés, and iconic pier.
