Spin out from Jerichow, home to the 12th‑century brick Jerichow Abbey, and roll northwest on quiet lanes to the Elbe dike. Pick up the Elberadweg and enjoy easy, flat riding with big river-meadow views. The surface is mostly smooth and paved, with a few stretches of paving stones, the odd cobbled patch through farmsteads, and a short bit of gravel—nothing a regular bike can’t handle.

After roughly 13 km, you glide into Tangermünde, a beautifully preserved medieval town perched where the Tanger meets the Elbe. Look for its striking brick‑Gothic town hall, castle remains above the river, and winding half‑timbered streets. Perfect spot to park up on the market square for coffee or wander the waterfront.

Minimal climbing (around 30 m) and mostly car‑free paths make this an easy, breezy ride—just be ready for a headwind on the dike. If you’ve time before setting off, the abbey museum in Jerichow is well worth a peek.
