Giro veloce in bici da Dolus-d'Oléron a Saint-Trojan-les-Bains

Roll out from Dolus-d’Oléron and cruise south across Île d’Oléron’s easy-going cycle network to Saint-Trojan-les-Bains. It’s about 13.6 km and almost pancake-flat, threading past salt marshes and oyster huts (this area is famous for Marennes-Oléron oysters) before easing into the shade of pine forests near the island’s southern tip.

The route is mostly on dedicated cycleways (about two-thirds), with quiet roads and a few track sections. Expect some gravel stretches, so wider tires make it more comfortable. Wind can be a factor on exposed sections, but the forest offers shelter.

Dolus is a laid-back central hub on one of France’s largest Atlantic islands, and Saint-Trojan-les-Bains is a classic seaside resort known for its pine forest and wide beaches—Grande Plage on the ocean side and the calmer Gatseau beach on the south.
