Gita in bici di un giorno da Horní Planá a Frymburk

This ride takes you from the charming lakeside town of Horní Planá all the way down to Frymburk, skirting the edge of the beautiful Lipno reservoir in South Bohemia. With a distance of just under 50 km, expect about a half-day journey if you take it easy and enjoy the scenery (and maybe a café stop or two).

You’ll climb over 800 meters along the way, rolling over quiet paved roads, smooth cycleways, and a few gravel tracks through lush forests. The Lipno area is a known paradise for cyclists, and you’ll get to enjoy forest views and glimpses of the lake. Expect the route to be mostly on peaceful tracks—you’ll barely see any cars until you approach the towns.

Start your trip by the water at Horní Planá, birthplace of writer Adalbert Stifter, before weaving through picturesque South Bohemian countryside towards Frymburk—a historic little town with relaxed cafés, lakeside promenades, and a classic village square. Perfect for a rewarding post-ride rest!
