Gita in bici di un giorno da San Sebastián a Hendaye

Here’s a fun ride that starts in the vibrant city of Donostia / San Sebastian—famous for its stunning beaches and pintxos—and ends just across the French border in Hendaye, a laid-back Basque beach town.

You’ll head out along a mix of seaside cycleways and quiet roads, winding through coastal villages and catching breath-taking ocean views. Expect a bit of a workout with some hills to climb (you’ll rack up about 640 meters of ascent!), but you’ll also get some breezy descents. The highest point is around 150 meters, so nothing too extreme.

The route is mostly on paved surfaces, and there’s a good network of cycle paths to keep things safe and relaxed, though watch for a few sections where you’ll share space with cars. You’ll end up in Hendaye, known for its long sandy beach and as a gateway to France.
