Spin out from central Cairo, the “City of a Thousand Minarets,” and head west toward the Nile. You’ll cross one of the big bridges and then settle into a mostly quiet-road cruise toward Giza. It’s roughly 34 km with gentle ups and downs (about 260 m total climbing), so the ride feels largely flat. Expect a few livelier stretches near major arteries and bridge approaches—stay alert and take the quieter side streets when you can.

Hugging the river at points gives classic Cairo views: feluccas, island neighborhoods, and a skyline punctuated by minarets. Roll into Giza and you’re within reach of the legendary Giza Plateau, home to the Pyramids and the Great Sphinx—one of the world’s last surviving ancient wonders.

Tips: start early to beat heat and traffic, carry plenty of water and sun protection, and use lights/reflectives for visibility on busier sections.
