Starting from Zhongxing New Village, Taiwan’s unique ‘garden city’ built in the 1950s as the seat of the provincial government, you’ll pedal through peaceful neighborhoods and enjoy the village’s famous tree-lined boulevards.

Most of the way is on quiet roads, so it’s both safe and pleasant, with just enough uphill (about 157 meters in total) to get your legs working before you cruise into downtown Nantou. While there’s a little bit of everything surface-wise, most riders will appreciate the paved and occasionally asphalt sections.
