Bastia to Ajaccio along the north and west coast

Biking trip from Bastia to Ajaccio, 5 stages with panniers/tent on hybrid-bikes, July 2010.Can be recommended to start in Bastia as you will then be cycling at the side of the road closest to the coast which makes it easier to enjoy the spectacular views of the coastline and also a lot safer to stop when there is traffic the road. However, generally only little traffic on the roads as well as very few other bikers. Part of the reason being that July generally is not recommended for bicycle touring in Corsica because of the heat. Don't be put off by that. When you’re cycling inland it can be hot, but along the coastal roads there is a constant pleasant breeze from the sea.
