Lithgow to Mudgee via Bathurst

This is a beautiful route travelling through hilly country. Take lots of supplies, as the towns labelled on the map are not towns at all - their localities with no shops (and often no water, though you can always ask locals for a top-up from the rainwater tank).

 

Best done in 3 days, camping by the side of the road along the way.

 

Touring or mountain bike recommended. Lots of sealed roads but also some loose bits.
