From the city centre, head north on the main road for around ten kilometres, mostly through quiet residential streets. The road narrows slightly as you move away from the city, and around half way through the ride, you will encounter a small stretch of mostly single track. Keep going north on the narrow road until you reach the village of Oldbury. From here, the route switches to a narrow country road that is mostly single track, with a few occasional sections of double track. Continue north for around half a kilometre, and you will reach the village of Dunwell. Here, the route changes to a busy road with occasional double track sections, and then switches back to a narrow country road that is mostly single track. Continue north for another half kilometre and you will reach the village of Lower Crofton
