Tromsø - Kvaløya - Senja - Finnsnes - 4/5 days round trip

Day 1: Cycle Tromsø - Sommarøy (56 km).  We recommend biking in Tromsø, before heading towards Sommarøy. You will bike to Kvaløya and along Kvaløysletta nice, flat terrain, with a steep ascent to Kattfjord, ca. 200m above sea level. From here it is nice and easy cycling before ‘rolling down’ to Kattfjord (surrounded by majestic mountain peaks, topping 1,000m). Weather-permitting, you may stop for a swim at the sandy beach. Sommarøy is a thriving coastal community for fishing and tourism.  Dinner and accomodation at Sommarøy - (Sommarøy means ‘Summer Island’). We recommend an evening stroll on Hillesøytoppen, giving you magnificent views of the ocean and the island of Senja.

Day 2: Cycle Sommarøy - Brensholmen - Mefjordvær (45 km) From Sommarøy there are some climbs, but also plenty of downhill! Bike to Brennholmen, then take the ferry to Botnhamn (on Senja). From Botnhamn you bike to Senjahopen, which is Senjas largest and most important fishing village. From here you cycle a detour to Mefjordvær. Dinner and accomodation in Mefjordvær. Day 3: Cycle Mefjordvær - Ersfjorden - Steinsfjorden - Straumbotn - Hamn (46 km) Cycle back to Senjahopen, then continue up to and through the Geitskards tunnel.  From here, bike back down to Ersjordsstranda, and further along Ersfjorden and Steinsfjord; then Tungeneset with stunning views of the North towards the famous peak ‘Okshornan’. Today's trip will end with a steep climb up to Skalandstunellen before rolling down towards the ‘Senja Troll’ and on to Hamn on Senja Island. Dinner and accomodation in Hamn. Day 4: Hamn – Finnsnes (51km) The last leg of the tour begins with cycling the same route back to Straumsbotn; then a gentle climb towards Svanelvdal, followed by and easy ride to Slettemoen and Finnsnes Take the Express boat back to Tromsø.
