Sulina - Periprava and back

The route starts from the town Sulina. To start the route the Danube needs to be crossed by boat. There are no regular crossings but this can be arranged with locals. The  track then follows an unpaved road to Cardon and then to C.A. Rosetti. From C.A. Rosetti the track goes all along reservation Letea (delimited with barbed wire). The reservation is on the left of the track. Then the track enters a shaded area, through an oak forest, probably part of Letea but outside the reservation.  When reaching Periprava the track becomes sandy and hard to ride for a short while. From Periprava we rode along the Danube, through a shaded embankment. We then reached the location of the former communist prison and fish farm, now a hotel and vacation resort. Be aware that arrival to the hotel needs to be announced beforehand, as this is mainly a bird watching spot to be kept quiet.  The return route is all along a channel, through sand and it is hard or impossible to ride. I would recommend riding this route in spring/early summer, before the sun is too hot and the vegetation too harsh and causing flat tires. I would also recommend avoiding the sandy part of the return, and go back on the same way
